South City 1 is a Unitech colony, and Unitech still lists its corporate office, Unitech House, inside it; Signature Towers, an office complex on the NH-48 side, also carries a South City 1 address. OpenStreetMap divides the colony into three parts, in Sector 30, Sector 40 and Sector 41. The Sector 30 part sits closest to Leisure Valley Park; the Sector 41 part holds most of the plotted streets on the map.
Most homes are on plotted streets: independent houses and builder floors, the plot rebuilt over the years into separate floors. Listing addresses name blocks by letter, among them C, G, H, K, M and O, and the block letter is how residents give directions. Group-housing societies stand within and beside the colony: Unitech The Palms and South City Heights in Sector 41, and The World Spa, with its East and West parts, mapped in Sector 30. These have towers, guarded gates and their own visitor rules.
Shops are spread through the colony. NoBroker lists a Sector 41 Market with food stalls and a supermarket address on C Block, and South City Club, with cricket, tennis, a pool and a gym. Two large hospitals are close by: Medanta – The Medicity in Sector 38 and the Fortis Memorial Research Institute in Sector 44, opposite Millennium City Centre. Office parks such as Unitech Cyber Park in Sector 39 are close by, which shapes the weekday traffic.
For a tutor, the address you give decides the trip. A floor in the Sector 30 part, near Leisure Valley, is approached differently from one deep in the Sector 41 blocks or from a society tower with its own gate. Sending the sector part, the block letter and the name of the nearest market or park saves a phone call on the first evening and helps the tutor judge whether your slot fits around their other classes.

The Yellow Line is the colony's metro. Its southern terminus, Millennium City Centre Gurugram (formerly HUDA City Centre), is about 1.5 km from Sector 41 by NoBroker's measure, so a tutor living anywhere on the Yellow Line, including Delhi, can ride in and take a short auto ride or walk. IFFCO Chowk station is about 3.1 km away and suits homes in the Sector 30 part. Tell the tutor which block you are in and the nearest gate or landmark.
Change is coming on the metro map. Gurugram Metro Rail cast the first pile of its Millennium City Centre to Cyber City line in Sector 45 in February 2026, and the planned interchange at Millennium City Centre is designed to sit about 100 metres from the Yellow Line station. Until the new line opens, expect construction diversions on roads around Sector 45; ask tutors coming from that side to allow for them.
By road, NH-48 is the main highway near the colony. Tutors from the DLF phases, Sushant Lok 1, Sohna Road and Golf Course Extension Road can all reach South City 1 without crossing the whole city, which widens your choice.
